Movie Review : Anchorman

I'm thinking I might keep a regular slot each Monday dedicated to giving short reviews of films I have seen in the past week.

This being the first, and in true critic fashion, I'm going to slate the hell out of this abysmal piece of celluloid.

Will Ferell's performance is weak at best, to say he is a comedian is a joke in itself. I'm not even going to bother about going into the plot because it's that poor. The only thing keeping me watching was Christina Applegate! Expect to see cameo roles by Ben Stiller (why Ben, why?!?) and Vince Vaughn (Dodgeball)

...avoid at all costs!!

Actimel...the startling truth!

For the past two weeks, I've been on the Actimel challenge. You know the one....it's plugged every 5 minutes on telly...and being a sucker for things like this, I thought I'd give it a go.

Honestly, I think it's done me the world of good and I can see myself continuing to drink it from now on. The main advantage I've seen is on my digestive system. Now I don't won't to go into the ins and outs out how my digestive system was before....but lets just say things are a lot "easier" now.

Maybe as a knock on affect, I genuinly think that my mood has changed. I'm a lot more cherpier and find that I'm less keen to slump down in front of the telly after work.

In short, the £2.50 a week cost for these miniatures marvels is well worth it! However, I'm told the dhai (natural yogurt) made by mum for free, has the same affect!

Mini review

Wow…didn’t realize it’s been 10 days since I lasted blogged. I haven’t been incredibly busy, just lazy really!!

Like millions of other lemmings, I bought myself and Jenny an iPod (silver and pink)...mini ones to be precise. I like the fact that they’re incredibly small and stylish compared to their bigger brothers.

Styling:

The iPod is hands down the sexiest mp3 player one the market. The mini one comes in a variety of different colours (bar white…don’t get me started on how racist it is to be paying more for a normal size white version!!)

Sound:

To be honest, I’m a little disappointed at the sound quality outputted from the unit. At first I thought it was due to the crappy stock headphones. But, even when my trusty Sennheiser headphones were plugged in, you can hear some distortion when cranked to the max volume. Other then that though, the sound can be modified as you like by the software equalizer.

Functionality:

What do you want out of an mp3 player??....err, news, weather info, cinema listings, support for RSS feeds…because that’s you can achieve with this dinky device. Using iPod agent, you can quickly sync a whole load of info directly to you pod, excellent for when you’re on the go and bored. You can also use the pod as an external hard drive to transport your files!!

Cons:

Could really find a section for these, so thought I’d create a dedicated one. Whilst, I’m singing the praise of the mini iPod, it does have some very irritating flaws. The first being it’s battery life. From the three days I have been using it, the average battery life is just over 7 hours. This is with minimal “fiddling” about with and no EQ / backlight settings being on. Pretty shabby, but I don’t mind charging it everyday as it charges whilst syncing.
The second flaw is the software…I reallllyyy hate iTunes, its pants!!!! Why do I need to create a playlist for every album I have?!? Why can’t it keep the folder directory structure that I have on my hard drive rather then sticking everything in the “library?”
My final gripe, as mentioned before, is the headphones. After one day of use expect to have very sore, if not bruised, ears!

Overall, I would recommend the iPod. But, if you’re not a lemming like me…seriously consider buying the Creative Zen Micro. It’s a bit cheaper and comes with a gig extra storage. However, let’s be honest…like your old Walkman and MD player, you’ll be buying something new to replace it within a couple of years anyway!

Unlock it...in 5 minutes!!

Want to know how to unlock your mobile quickly, easily and most importantly...freely??? Then read on, as anybody can do this...no cables are required!!

All you will need is the IMEI number (by typing *#06#) and the following piece of software:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/danluik/cyber_5.4.zip

The software is pretty self explanatory and easy to use, so I won't do a step by step guide. However, I will say the following:

1. Switch off your phone and remove the sim card before turning it back on and typing in the code.
2. If you have a
7650, 3650, 3660 N-gage, 6600 use unlock type "5" instead of "2"
3. To type "p" press the "*" 3 times, to type "w" press the "*"4 times, for the "+" type "*" twice.
4. Use the 7th code in the generated list first, if that doesn't work try the 5th and failing that try the 1st.

...it will all make sense once you get to it!

You only get 3 attempts at entering the code with Nokias, after that you will need to get it professinonally unlocked (i.e with a cable). Your phone will still be fully functional though....so you have nothing to lose!!!

Try it out!!

Google Vision!

Google,google,google...will you ever fail to impress. It turns out, you can use google to spy on a variety of different webcams!

Canon has a series of netcams that all use the "WebView LiveScope" software. They are frequently used by japanese sites. Unfortunately most are crawled by their IP address so determining their location becomes more difficult. Some model names are:

* VB-C10
* VB-101
* VB-C50i

This search looks for the java applet called "LiveApplet" that is used by Canon's network camera feeds.

Click here for the Google search ==> intitle:liveapplet inurl:LvAppl

Google search for Axis cam ==>
Link

Crazy....this page is literally full of webcam links! http://www.undertree.us/allcams.html

Anyway, that will keep you busy for now!!

Dartford madness!!

Well, this is day that I'm supposed to be going back to work...but I've had to call in sick because of the crazy traffic I was in yesterday whilst trying to make my way back to Rochester.

The journey started well...the roads were fairly clear of traffic, it took me an hour to get to junction 30 of the M25 (which is pretty good). It was at this point I met a diversion which I was slightly confused about (turned out to be a warehouse fire in the end). So, I ended up going round a big roundabout half a dozen times whilst on the phone to my dad, trying to figure out a different way to get to Rochester. I decided to stop and ask a policemen who was diverting the traffic. Needless to say, stopping at the side of a roundabout and being on the phone aggravated him just a tad. After hurling abuse at me I was forced to make my way down the A13 in an attempt to get to the Blackwall tunnel. Hmm...it sounds easy, but 4 hours later I'd barely moved a mile!!!!!

My frustration and anger got the better of me and I had to head back home via the A406, which took a measly 45 minutes.

What I've learnt:
6 hours on the road (with over 4 being in traffic) is enough to drive anyone to suicide...hence the day off!!

p.s wish me luck for the journey back today!!
